Every tablet sleeve is a small project
We produce each tablet bag in our own workshop in Trier. This is located in the far west of Germany on the border to Luxembourg. We sew to a consistently high quality so that you can enjoy our product from the beginning and for as long as you need it.
These are the steps to your tablet sleeve.
Place your order and determine the dimensions. If you want a custom-made casing because you are already using a cover or your device is not listed with us, we now calculate the corresponding cut size. To do this, we use a formula that has been tested over many years.
After that, the cut parts are cut exactly with the 3 mm felt and the 1 mm felt. Of course, your cover will only be particularly stylish with rounded corners. We make these by hand using a special technique.
The inner and outer felt are now fixed so that the parts do not slip when sewing them together. After all, your bag should have a nice smooth outer edge, a perfect sandwich of outer and inner felt, a trademark of stilbag bags.
Now the pieces are sewn together. In the process, labels, elastic or cork flaps are added with fastener. Here we make sure that they are arranged exactly.
The cork flaps are also made by hand beforehand. Here, too, the cork leather is covered with coloured felt. With the help of a small machine we create perfect cut edges.
After sewing, we carefully check the quality. Everything must be in the right place, seam edges and outer edges must be even.
Is the wool mulesing-free?
We are aware of the problem of the painful removal of skin folds in merino wool sheep (also called mulesing) and we are very interested in wool from trustworthy sources. Our suppliers have confirmed that the coloured wool for the inner felt comes from South America and Spain. Here the removal of the skin folds is unknown and not necessary due to the climate. The wool for the outer felt comes mainly from New Zealand, where mulesing has been banned since 01.10.2018.
